Javier Merino is a Founder and Managing Partner of Innovatech Law Firm located in Barcelona. Previously, he had been working with the Barcelona office of Baker & McKenzie, the Barcelona office of Clifford Chance, and the Bristol and London offices of Osborne Clarke.
Javier Merino is actively involved work in the areas of Licensing, Technology Transfer, Intellectual Property, Commercial Law, Venture Capital and Mergers and Acquisitions, Company Law, as well as Data Protection. He is advising in legal matters in such sectors as Life Science, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Nanotechnology, Innovation, Information Technology and Communications, Telecommunications, Software, and some others.
He has lectured on issues related to the Protection of Industrial and Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer and Licensing, Personal Data, Electronic Commerce, Electronic Signatures, Online Banking, and the use of electronic means in Public Tenders, organized by entities, at national and international level, such as Euromoney (London), Universidad Pompeu Fabra, ESADE, Colegio de Abogados de Barcelona, Instituto Catalán de Tecnología, Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, Institute for International Research, Internet Global Conference 1999 and 2000, the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, Institut d’Educació Contínua, Instituto de Fomento Sanitario, or Actualidad de Derecho Sanitario.
He is co-author of the Chapter on Spain of the book “Doing E-commerce in Europe” published in 2001, in the English language, by Baker & McKenzie. He is also an author of the Article “The use of Electronic Signatures in the Public Administration”.
